Restoring Charm and Character: The Arrow's Pizza Branding Project

ABOUT

Arrow's Pizza is a branding project that involved designing a logo, restaurant facade aesthetics, and menu design for a charming building located in Baltimore. The building had been abandoned after a tragic fire but was lovingly restored to become one of Baltimore's favorite first-date venues.

GOAL

The goal of the Arrow's Pizza branding project was to create a visual identity that captures the unique charm and character of the building while reflecting its transformation from a tragic event to a place of happiness and joy. The design needed to be eye-catching and welcoming and evoke the warmth and comfort of a delicious pizza.

SOLUTION

As part of my design solution for Arrow's Pizza, we decided to leave the restaurant facade black to honor its history of surviving the tragic fire. This decision also helped to create a unique and striking visual identity for the restaurant, which sets it apart from other venues in the area.

In addition, we created a logo based on the owner's handwriting, which was then made to look like chalk on a chalkboard. This approach added a personal touch to the design and gave the logo a sense of playfulness and warmth that resonates with customers. The hand-drawn arrow also reflects the restaurant's name and adds a touch of whimsy that perfectly captures the joyful and lighthearted atmosphere of the venue.

Overall, my design solution for Arrow's Pizza celebrates the building's history and restoration and reflects the owner's personal style and vision for the restaurant. The combination of playful elements and classic design creates a unique and welcoming atmosphere that invites customers to experience the joy of delicious pizza in a charming and memorable setting.
